Lagan Board Elects Software Industry Veteran Peter McKay as New Chairman

Bethesda, MD – Lagan, a provider of enterprise case management solutions that streamline the delivery of public services to constituents, today announced that the board of directors has unanimously voted to appoint board member Peter McKay to the position of chairman of the board. An advisor and investor in venture-backed companies, McKay joined the Lagan board of directors in December 2008 as a non-executive member.

“Over the past year Peter has played a significant role in expanding our operations and business in North America resulting in consistent, strong performance despite the current economic environment,” said Des Speed, President and CEO of Lagan. “His wealth of experience and proven track-record of driving aggressive business goals uniquely position him to lead the board as the company moves into the next phase of growth.”

McKay has over 25 years of experience building and leading world class software and services companies.  As President and CEO of Watchfire from 2001 until its acquisition by IBM in July 2007, he led the growth of Watchfire Software as a Service (SaaS) revenues from $3 million to $40 Million.  Prior to Watchfire, McKay was the President of eCredit, growing the business from $3 million in revenue to $21 million in annualized revenue with over $75 million in guaranteed (re-occurring) deferred revenue over three years via a worldwide direct and indirect channel strategy.  McKay came to eCredit having held Senior Executive positions at Computer Associates and Parametric Technologies. He also served on the board of directors at Spotfire for two years until it was sold to Tibco in June 2007. In addition to his role with Lagan, McKay is currently a member of the board of directors of Application Security, Inc., Automated QA and Apperian, Inc., and is actively involved in numerous business and professional organizations within the technology industry.

“For close to a year I’ve had the honor to serve on the Lagan board and have been extremely impressed with the level of commitment, passion and execution by everyone at the company,” said McKay. “I’m energized and excited about the opportunities Lagan has to leverage its phenomenal success in the U.K. to significantly expand market share in North America and to introduce some of the most innovative solutions government has ever seen for service delivery.”
McKay replaces John Lillywhite who was the previous chairman and served on the Lagan board of directors since 1999.

“We are grateful to John for his 10 years of committed service to Lagan,” stated Speed.  “As chairman, John played a key role in growing Lagan to be the world leader in enterprise case management solutions with a 50-fold increase in revenue and nine consecutive years in the Deloitte Ireland Fast50.”
