The Product student will be a member of one of our software development teams, focused on developing Lagan’s product suite. This job offers the candidate with an invaluable opportunity to participate in a market leading product development.

• Programming with Java
• Database Programming in SQL (Oracle, MSS)
• Programming with Unix-style shell scripting
• Testing (design, setup and execution)
• Writing user and technical documentation
• Defect analysis and correction
• Learn about the processes and procedures employed in developing, building, testing and releasing a software package.
• Learn about the installation and upgrade of this software package, including the importance of a stringent Quality Assurance process.

• Currently undertaking a degree in a Computer Science or related discipline
• Knowledge of Java or .NET
• Team player
• Good communications skills
• The ability to work to deadlines

• Knowledge of web based technologies
• Knowledge of SQL
• Programming module results of 70% or above
• Knowledge of non-Windows operating systems

One year student contract expected to commence summer 2010.The salary for this role is £12,500 per annum.
